From One Suburb, to Another!

Last week, I received some surprising news. I got home from work on Monday and my host-Mom told me that I would have to be re-located to a new host family. She said they knew for a while, but hadn't told me. I was so shocked! This was a major plot twist. At first, I was a little angry that I hadn't known earlier. After some conversations with family & friends, I decided to see this change as a new opportunity to see more of Melbourne! It was really sad leaving the little girl I lived with and Tigger the Cat, but I think the decision was for the best.

In just a couple of days the homestay company called me and secured a new home in the lovely Footscray. I love it here! My host is a lovely person & I'm excited to get to know her in the last 3 weeks of my exchange.

With time flying fast, I have been checking some things off of the Melbourne Bucket List. Last weekend I went to Luna Park and went on a ride. I also spent the day at the beach wading in the clear water.

It is crazy how fast time has gone by. It was recently International Women's day and I got to celebrate with all of the amazing women at RMIT & I started the day with some yoga.

I had another surprise last week, that made me smile from ear to ear. My second niece was born! I cannot wait to meet her when I am home.

My friends, Alex and Rebecca, have been showing me around Footscray and they even helped me move. I am so thankful for the relationships I have made out here! I spent the week acquainting myself with coffee shops, the second-hand store, and celebrating the Moomba Festival in the city.

My place is really close to coffee, and the river! Both of which bring me a lot of happiness. I went on a run along the river this morning and it was awesome.

I am excited to settle in this new area and to explore as much as I can.
