Hello! Hello!

I only have a couple weeks left in Australia. How crazy is that? I don't know about you, but these few months have flown by. Everyone keeps asking me if I am excited to go home and I am! My partner and I have been doing long distance and I would like to give massive praise to anyone who does it. It is challenging, but it makes me so excited to go back home. I am also sad about leaving. I have made such a community over here and I am going to miss the laughs, the learning, and my "mob". I know that I will be back and that gives me peace.

During the first part of my exchange I would always so " Oh, I'll go to that museum one weekend, or I'll go to that beach one day" and my one piece of advice for people is to make those plans. Set them in stone and do not wait until your last week to zip around the city you are in before you go. Fortunately, I did a lot of the big trips around Victoria when I first arrived in Melbourne. This past week has been a little bit of catching up before I head home.

Last weekend I took a train to Williamstown and walked along the beach. This suburb is SO quiet which was a nice change from the big city. Later that day, I went to Fitzroy for the "Vegan Day Out" expo and it was lovely! I bought a new bamboo toothbrush, and some vegan cheese and tried a new cafe called Grace. Their vegan cake was so. good. I finished off the day with a cocktail at Polly Bar, while I wrote some of my last postcards for my family and friends before I head back to Canada. People should send mail more, it is such a small gesture but it means so much to me when I receive a letter or card from an old friend.

I attended a boat party put on by RUSU, the RMIT student union. It was so much fun! I went with my friend Delphine, who is from Ireland and it so much fun to spend time with. We danced the night away!

In terms of playing catch up, I visited the National Gallery of Victoria which is filled with art from around the world, and attended an Ocean Film Festival at the Crown casino. If you are interested in any of these films let me know, I can send the program to you so you can watch from home!

With two weeks left, I am as busy as ever and I am soaking every minute in. Also, a little bird told me that I have some students reading this blog who are interested in going on exchange. If you have any questions or would just like to connect, feel free to contact me on social media.
